This curious phrase “the earth opened her mouth” is a figurative expression which the Bible uses to signify that the earth cleaved in two or divided. It is always used in reference to Korah’s Rebellion. In the sixteenth chapter of Numbers, Korah led a rebellion against God’s appointed leadership which threatened to divide Israel. Moses fell on his face before God who answered immediately. The rebels with their wives and children fell screaming into a crevasse as the earth opened and “swallowed”; them.. Israel fled in terror.
This earthquake took place while Israel was in the wilderness. It is a type of the earthquake in Revelation 12:16 where the woman or Israel has fled into a figurative wilderness. The earthquakes have this in common…they both swallow people.
The earthquake of Revelation 12:16 swallows a flood. The flood waters in this verse are defined in Revelation 17:15 to signify peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues. Isaiah used the word flood in this sense, “The enemy shall come in like a flood.” (Is 58:19)
The dragon of this verse is Satan. This flood of immigration which we are experiencing now is a satanic attack designed to drown the woman or Israel in her last refuge in the wilderness. Satan is working through the 8th beast of Revelation, the N.W.O.
There is a flood in the first book of the bible and in the last book of the bible. The first flood was literal water and it is a type of the last flood which is figurative water or a multinational flood of people. For as the days of Noah were, so shall the coming of the Son of man be. And knew not until the “flood” came, and took them all away.
So shall the coming of the Son of man be. Matt 24:37, 39
We need watch and pray that the flood doesn’t take us away. We want to be “left behind” with the remnant of the woman’s seed. (Rev 12:17)
